Tradicionalni praznik "Fare" in okoliških vasi vsako leto privabi veliko obiskovalcev in romarjev.

During the day of the celebrations numerous concerts and exhibitions take place, while the evening is reserved for live music. The traditional holiday of Fara (the local name for Spodnja Idrija) and the surrounding villages attract once a year numerous visitors and pilgrims. In the long history of the town the rich cultural heritage of many ethnological and culinary elements has been preserved to this day.

The scene of the event is the church of Marija na Skalci (St. Mary on the Rock) where a grand mass takes place every year, followed by great celebrations. According to tradition, at this holiday people prepare štruklji (dumplings), weave garlands and sing and dance. Due to the annual traditional preparation of štruklji the holiday is also known as Prfarski štrukljevc.
